Really difficult to find especially at night because the sign is dark, windows are dark and from the outside it looks like a shady massage place.

    Seaweed Salad - $ 5.50
    *crunchy, chewy and seaweed-y, yum!

    Tuna Roll & Avocado - $ 6.50
*tuna tasted really fresh and a good ratio with the avocado

    Salmon & Avocado - $ 6.50
*salmon was rich and buttery, smaller portion of fish than the tuna

Spicy Crab Tempura Roll - $9.95
Deep-fried Spicy Crab Roll and cream cheese w/ special sauce
*I'm not a big cream cheese in a sushi roll fan and this was no different lol but it's just personal preference and wasn't for me

    Mexicano Roll - $14.50
Yellowtail, Jalapeno, Cilantro, Avocado & Tobiko on top
*omg the combo of this roll was aHHMazing....yellowtail was a great portion, herbaceous from the cilantro, the jalapeno added a little heat, the avocado was thinly sliced and so creamy and the tobiko was salty and crunchy...this was 8 pieces of heaven!

They have GF soy sauce upon request.  Their sake menu is really small but we went with a bottle of their unfiltered Snow Beauty.  A little surprised the reviews weren't higher for this restaurant but I think it's low ratings because of the service.  The servers are miserable and they're very obvious because they roll their eyes when you try to get their attention.  We also noticed a ton of customers picking up to go orders.  I will be one of those customers moving forward ha!

The first thing to know - if you ever come across a restaurant that serves at the same time two food groups that are unrelated - French and tacos - for example, run the other way. The same thing works with this restaurant. It lacks identity, and just as you wouldn't want to date a person who lacks identity, wby on earth would you go to a restaurant that can't decide what it wants to serve?

Stream of consciousness out of the way, I have to admit I have been here a few times despite giving it two stars. Why? Because I sometimes have lunch meetings and this place is quiet. Why is it quiet? Because there are rarely any customers here at lunch. So, you put one and one together and figure out why.

Overall, the food was bland and inauthentic. Vegetables that are not in Thai dishes at traditional restaurants make it into this one somehow. The dishes were bland and, even for DC, a bit expensive for the portion.

What's more, service is poor at best. I especially asked them to make my dish not so watery. It came out watery. My friend asked for water. It took too longer to come. Maybe they just mixed up our requests.

Once, I found myself damn near inside the kitchen because I asked for soy sauce and it never came. I probably should have stayed in the kitchen to help with service because these servers seemed lost, slow and inexperienced.

I rarely write this critical a review of a restaurant, but I will hold lunch meetings in the parking lot next time if I have to because this place is pitiful. Restaurants should give people more reason to come to it than just because it has ... tables.

Bottom Line: Flavorless food, inattentive service.

Really disappointed with our experience here. Getting seated was quick (virtually no one was there), but was the only thing service related that was fast. It took a while to get a menu, order, and even the check. The worst part was trying to get utensils....the food got cold while trying to someone from the staff to bring utensils. Others in the restaurant were having similar trouble getting help as well.

As for the food, Thai food is usually full of spices and flavors...not so here. I've had supermarket frozen Thai noodles with more flavor.

    Not going back

The odd thing about Kruba is that, for its prime location in the Yards, there is virtually never anyone in there. I honestly marvel at how they have stayed in business so long.

In any case, I came here with friends one day (it was a game day and we were looking for a place that wasn't crowded...hard to do, except that there were only two other people in the restaurant when we went in). We ordered a mix of yellow, red, and veggie curries.

Everything was remarkably unremarkable. We all felt that there was little to no flavor in any of the curries we ordered. The most subpar Thai delivery I've had is more flavorful than Kruba. Service was meh at best, perhaps because we were nearly the only people in the restaurant, which itself is rather large.

I have felt no desire to return, given all the great options we have in Navy Yard.

Always skeptical of a place that does Thai and sushi, so decided to stick with the Thai options during my recent visit. Less risk in getting sick going with the Thai food. I prefer it when I place specializes in a particular cuisine, rather than trying to do everything. Usually one of the cuisines suffers. With that being said, I really enjoyed the Thai entrees here.

This restaurant is quite large, so there are plenty of tables. Came here on a Saturday evening and although there were several customers here, there was no wait. Decided to order the drunken noodles with chicken and the seafood fried rice. The seafood fried rice comes with some scallops, shrimps, and squid. The drunken noodles were a little spicier than anticipated, but still enjoyable. Both dishes came with diced carrots. The fried rice had a few cucumbers which was nice. Both dishes were a good amount of food, which was satisfying.

Service was very good. Food was brought out within 15 minutes of ordering, and water was refilled regularly. Some interesting artwork in here as well, various Thai/Asian statues I suppose. There are a few TVs by the bar area, so you could watch the Nats game while eating if you choose. The prices were fairly reasonable as well for the DC Metro area. This is a solid option in the Navy Yard neighborhood.
